What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? One of the technologies I almost forgot for was Paint as without it I would not have been able to create the interesting design for the background of my cover page.In regards to the technologies that I have used in the process of constructing my music magazine I have learnt alot about the how they work and what features of these technologies are suitable for the different tasks that I would be undertaking in the process of creating my magazine.
How did you attract/address your audience?

How does your media product represent particular social groups? As the main focus of my music magazine is the main character J-max who is a Rock musician who is about to go on tour. So this makes him the logical choice to represent a social group. In this case I tried to focus on the target audience as relating the main character to the audience that listen and read about rock music would result in more sale of my magazine. I decided that the best way to do this was to focus on the mise en scene in regards to the main character. So I selected some cloths that he and I both agreed meet some of the rock music conventions and began to shoot some pictures. Although I did have some reservations abou the choice of clothing it was however the only arrangment of cloths that we could both agree on. But the combination of the shirt and jeans does work well to match the genre of a rock star at home as you don't wear your stage cloths at home do you. I might have changed the tyle of clothing a little as I feel that rock musicians would probably wear something a little darker when in a interview, but as this was set at his famly home it makes sense that he would be wearing more casual rather then practical clothing. This represents a social group as The next area I addressed was the the selection of an Instrument as alot of the rock music magazines have instruments in the pictures with the musician to give the feel of action and movement. In stereotypical terms my represents both the mainstream stereotypes through its use of casual clothing and active possess which might appeal to both the Casuals and Ravers of the teenager stereotypes. The alternatives stereotypes are also represented as my character wears up to date clothing and has spiked gelled hair and follow the conventions of other magazines such as Kerrang which means it also represents although subtly Scene kids and Metal heads.
My music magazine matches up well with existing media as like most magazines in the most magazines in the rock music genre it has a clear focal point in the form of the main character who is in the centre of the front cover, and double page spread as well as my use of a mast head and a bar code which are typical of the magazine conventions. My magazine developes some of these typical conventions in particular the style of background I have chosen for my main character to stand against as I have chosen to use a black background with red effects. I chose this background for my front cover as it made the main character stand out from the background this was to show that he is the focal point of my magazine and to stop him having less of a impact like in other magazines. Such as the Kerrang magazine cover bellow as my eye is drawn first to the text in the center of the cover page before enything else. My final magazine has developed a lot more then draft piece as the Draft piece followed a restricted number of the conventions linked to this genre even though it's basic structure was build on existing media text. I used alot more of the conventions used in ------ magazine in the creation of my draft. Which after analysing my draft I decided to remove some of the conventions as I felt they did not match the genre of the text that I was trying to create.

The style of music I have based my magazine on was Rock music which has a huge following around the world, I can only hope that thanks to the support and feedback given to me by my fellow students and my teachers that I can do the style of music justice. My final piece has gone through many stages to get to this final stage of readiness. I selected the colours I used on the magazine based on the style of music and some of the stereotypical assessments of rock music stylings. I made the main focus of my magazine the character J-max a name I selected for the actor I got to play him in the photographic stage of the creation of my magazine. I chose to use a different style of font to the conventional times Aerial and Calibri as these do not really match the style of music I was trying to convey so I used a font generator and found Angelic war and Bleeding cowboy to use instead. The images on the content page are Black and white I used photoshop to do this, but the reason I did this was to make the images match with the over all darker feel of the page and to make sure that they did not take anything away from the Cover and Double page spread.
Each individual section of my final piece is developing at a steady rate. Durring the process of creating this magazine cover I have changed my mind about certain aspects several times and this has been reflected in the images I have posted today, The image on the left first on the left is the closest draft to my final piece, before the deadline for this work is reached I hope to have included more Headings and more information on the cover page. The reason why I changed the location of the bar code on this page was the fact that I needed more space on the bottom half of the page for this information. I chose to put the barcode onto the top right hand side of the cover page instead because after trying it in different locations this seemed the best over all, as putting it into the top corner would obstruct the Mast Head which would make it hard for my audience to read the name of my magazine. I narrowed the list down to two possible candidates, Jim and Jake who are both good friends of mine. But due to the posiblity of a long term absence and a few other issues Jake was taken out of the running. Meaning I have finally came to a decision and chose Jim to be the main character of my magazine I originally chose him as he and Jake where the one that looked most like the Rock musician out of the rest.
So today I gave Jim a call and told him he had won. He was extatic and I invited him back to the house to take the shots for my magazine, he was more then happy to as he did not have alot on between 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock. After he arrived we began to dicuss the in's and outs of the project I was doing and began to take pictures of him for the magazine. you can see some of these below.
The first place I took some photos was the in front a plain white wall where I could get the clear uninterupted picture of the artist.I have decided to make a list of things I will need to do to through out the remainder of the course.
I have begun work on my draft piece for my magazine as you can see on your left, the images I used for this magazine where take at a formal occation that I recently attended. I took alot of photos while I was there which is one of the reasons why I considered using these picture for my magazine. Another reason for this decision was the fact that I had decided for my Draft I would base the main article around a Rock music awards ceremony.
